Chapter Five

Jax rolled over in the early hours of the morning, reaching for his new lover. He was sore and aching in places he’d forgotten he had, but that didn’t stop him from wanting Golden again. They’d already fucked numerous times over the night, but Jax felt insatiable.

What he felt was a bunch of pillows and tangled sheets.

Cracking an eye, he glanced over at the empty spot in the bed. He lifted his head, listening to see if there were any sounds in the bathroom. Jax jumped from the bed and crossed the room, peeking into the other room.

Nothing.

He moved to one of his windows facing next door and saw his lover loading a bag into his car and jumping behind the wheel.

A wave of disappointment filled him as he watched Golden drive off in the early morning glow.

He’d been right.

Golden hadn’t been able to handle him.
